translate to English: On our way home we made a stop at the banks of the Loire in Gien. A friendly staff member of the tourist office recommended us restaurant-lounge bar Le port Gallier. We were very kindly, trendy and playfully welcomed by well-groomed young staff who brought us to a table on the terrace with a view of the Loire, as well as the castle and church of Gien. We ordered champagne as an aperitif and shared as a starter Le Grande Assiette de Charcuterie Toscane, a dish with different types of fine meats. For the main course we chose Ossobuco à la Florentine with pasta and Spaghetti à la Carbonara. Both dishes were sublime and prepared in an authentic way by the Italian chef. We ordered a bottle of red wine Coteaux du Giennoise from Wine Domain Clèment & Florian Berthier, a family business that has been producing wine for several generations in the Centre-Loire region in France. The domain was founded in 1980 and combines traditional and modern methods and the grape varieties Pinot Noir and Gamay. The wine had a vintage of 2020 and an alcohol percentage of 13%. It had fine tobacco aromas, black fruit and was velvety soft in the mouth with notes of blueberries. It also had a nice structure and a long finish that matched our food perfectly. It was a perfect farewell to France on Monday evening June 12, 2023

Amazing pizzas, great plat du jour, be prepared to wait at busy periods but a great excuse to relax and enjoy the view of the town from the opposite river bank

Took great care of three gluten free guests, modified the menu and produced two warm gluten free baguettes for us to enjoy. Food was wonderful and everything was something we each liked. Thank you again

The staff were courteous, attentive, and extremely fast, and the food was both prompt and delicious. Another reviewer had concerns about the quantity of the meals but we must have ordered different things because after spending a full day of biking on a mostly empty stomach, I was satisfied by a single quite reasonably priced dish.
